Oconoluftee River above Cherokee, NC in the Smoky Mountains National Park. A crisp fall day.

 

Mingus Mill, just inside the entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park. This mill is kept in operation to this day. Notice the smoke coming from the stovepipe near the front door.

Pioneer village recreation at Cherokee, NC at the entrance to the Great Smokies National Park. This photograph was actually taken and printed in color.

 

View across Cade's Cove, near Townsend, TN. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful areas in the country, particularly in the fall.
